Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of UAI — the mobile app and this website (together, the "Service") — operated by Sleipnirtech Private Limited ("we," "us," "our") for IIT Delhi. By creating an account or otherwise using UAI, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, accessing, or using UAI, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
UAI is available only to current students and faculty of IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, who can authenticate with a valid institutional Kerberos ID. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian and are otherwise capable of entering a binding agreement under Indian law, and that all information you provide during registration is accurate and kept up to date.
3. The service
UAI unifies ten IIT Delhi campus services — timetable, attendance, library, courses, webmail, lost & found and more — behind a single sign-in, fronted by an AI assistant called Horizon. Available features may differ between the student and faculty roles and may change over time as described in Section 10.
4. Your account
Your UAI account is tied to your IIT Delhi Kerberos ID. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential, for all activity under your account, and for telling us promptly at uai@sleipnirtech.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You may hold only one UAI account, may not share it with anyone else, and may not use another person's Kerberos ID.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass, probe, or interfere with UAI's authentication, security, or rate-limiting systems
- Access or attempt to access another user's account, mail, attendance record, or profile
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service, or use automated means to extract data at scale
- Submit false Lost & Found reports, impersonate another person, or upload content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or infringes another's rights
- Upload malware or any content designed to disrupt the Service or other users
- Use Horizon or any other part of the Service to generate or distribute unlawful content, or to facilitate academic dishonesty in violation of IIT Delhi's own academic policies
- Use the Service for any purpose that violates IIT Delhi's institutional rules or applicable law
We may investigate and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination, for any violation of this section.
6. Your content
"Your Content" means anything you submit through the Service — Lost & Found reports and photographs, chat messages to Horizon, feedback, timetable edits, and similar. You retain ownership of Your Content. By submitting it, you grant Sleipnirtech Private Limited a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display it as needed to operate the feature you used it for — for example, matching a Lost & Found report against other reports, or holding conversational context in Horizon. You're responsible for Your Content and for having the right to submit it.
7. Horizon AI — please read
Horizon is an AI assistant. Like any AI system, it can misunderstand a question or produce an answer that is incomplete, out of date, or incorrect — which is why the Service displays "AI can make mistakes" beneath its responses. Don't treat Horizon's output as an official record. For anything that matters — your official attendance, grades, timetable, or academic standing — always verify against the authoritative IIT Delhi source (Moodle, the registrar, your department) before relying on it.
8. Intellectual property
UAI, the UAI name and logo, Horizon, and the Service's underlying software, design, and content (excluding Your Content and IIT Delhi's own data) are owned by Sleipnirtech Private Limited or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of that ownership to you. You may not use our name, marks, or branding without our prior written permission.
9. Institutional systems
UAI depends on IIT Delhi's own infrastructure — LDAP, IMAP mail, Moodle, and library systems — that we don't own or control. We're not responsible for outages, data inaccuracies, or changes originating from those institutional systems, though we'll make reasonable efforts to work around them.
10. Availability & changes
We aim to keep UAI available and reliable but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice.
11. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, if your affiliation with IIT Delhi ends (for example, graduation, withdrawal, or departure), or if required by IIT Delhi or applicable law. You may stop using the Service, and request deletion of your account, at any time by writing to uai@sleipnirtech.com.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sleipnirtech Private Limited and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sleipnirtech Private Limited and its team from any claim, loss, or expense — including reasonable legal fees — arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the Service, or Your Content.
15. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that the courts located in New Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide reasonably prominent notice within the app or on this site. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
17. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Sleipnirtech Private Limited regarding the Service. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
